- Popular mantis, a staple in the community
- Often more timid than other beginner species

- Extremely small and speedy species
- Feeds on fruit flies for early instars
- Most instars mimic ants, small and black
- Like it a bit hotter and more humid

Fruit Flies
Both fruit fly cultures are made with NEHERP Media. Freshly made cultures travel best during shipping. Cultures will be dated the day they are made.
Drosophila hydei
- Flightless due to a mutation, wings are still present
- Flies are 2x bigger than D. melanogaster
- Good for small mantis nymphs and slings
- Easy to culture yourself, many recipes online

Roaches
"Fulvous Wood Roach" Parcoblatta fulvescens
- Very similar to Red Runners in behavior and appearance
- Nymphs don't climb smooth surfaces and don't burrow
- Small-sized feeder with a soft body, adults measure up to ½ inch
- Middle instars may produce a sticky substance from the abdomen
- Adult males have wings, adult females look like large nymphs

Stick Bugs
"Northern Walking Stick" Diapheromera femorata ⚠️
- All non-native phasmids are ILLEGAL! YOU MUST BE IN THEIR NATIVE RANGE!
- These WILL breed like crazy if you keep them right, they eat lots of oak (Quercus sp.)
- I mainly raise mine on Northern Red (Q. rubra) and White Oak (Q. alba) but they will eat other species
- Young nymphs may need their leaves torn or cut to allow them to eat properly
- Both sexes of adults and several nymphs are pictured
- All adults sold have been paired and are likely fertile
- To hatch, eggs will need to be diapaused (chilled) at 40°F or below for a few months

- Also known as the "Downy Thorn-Apple", due to their spiky seed pods
- Flowers are white, trumpet-shaped, 12–19 cm (4.5–7.5 in) long
- It flowers from early summer until late fall, and is an anual
- These flowers open in the evening and close come morning
